Oloo ("oloo," "we," "us," or "our") operates the oloo mobile application and the website located at oloo.app (collectively, the "Platform"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and handling your personal data with transparency and care.

Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal data collected, processed, or stored by oloo when you:

  • Download, install, or use the oloo mobile application (iOS or Android);
  • Visit or interact with our website at oloo.app;
  • Register for or use an oloo account;
  • Contact us for support or any other purpose.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites, apps, or services that may be linked from our Platform. We encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Registration: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, and profile photo.
  • Profile Information: Bio, interests, photos, videos, and other content you choose to share.
  • Communications: Messages sent through our in-app chat, as well as emails or messages sent to our support team.
  • Verification Data: Identity verification information (such as selfies or government-issued ID) if you choose to become a verified user.

  • Usage Data: How you interact with the Platform, including pages viewed, features used, time spent, and actions taken.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, browser type, and IP address.
  • Location Data: Approximate geographic location derived from your IP address, or, with your explicit permission, precise GPS location to enable location-based features such as nearby discovery.
  • Log Data: Crash reports, performance data, and diagnostic information to help us maintain and improve the Platform.
  • Cookies & Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns.

3.3 Information From Third Parties

  • Social Sign-In: If you choose to sign in using Apple, Google, or another third-party provider, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email from that provider.
  • Analytics Providers: Aggregated or anonymized data to help us understand usage trends.

  • Provide and operate the Platform: Create and manage your account, display your profile, and deliver core features such as the social feed, chat, and discovery.

  • With Other Users: Profile information, photos, videos, and content you post publicly on the Platform is visible to other oloo users as intended by the features you use.

  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of oloo, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

International Transfers

oloo operates globally and your personal data may be transferred to, stored, or processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our servers and service providers are located.

These countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your country. When we transfer data internationally, we take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including using standard contractual clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms where required.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your personal data to countries outside your own.

  • Correction: The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Deletion: The right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can initiate account deletion directly in the app via Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by contacting us. See our account deletion guide for full details.
  • Portability: The right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Restriction & Objection: The right to restrict or object to certain types of processing of your personal data.
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the Platform services. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where:

  • We are required by law to retain it for a longer period;
  • The data is necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with legal obligations;
  • The data has been aggregated or anonymized and can no longer identify you.

Certain information may persist in backup systems for a limited additional period before being fully purged.

Children's Privacy

oloo is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal data from anyone under 18 years of age.

If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a user under the age of 18, we will promptly take steps to delete that information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at privacy@oloo.app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Revised" date at the top of this page;
  • Notify you via the app, email, or other prominent means where required by law.

Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
